Feasibility study

A feasibility study is the first essential step to preparing any relocation project. This includes a plant audit to obtain valuable insight into technical feasibility, and completion times – not to mention drawing up budgets for dismantling, transportation and re-assembly. And since it is never too early to call on trusted outsider expertise, we subcontract our reliable partners at this point to rule out any surprises down the road.

Stork Asset Management Solutions - Projects and relocation management

Preparation of an relocation project

The entire relocation project is prepared during the dismantling engineering phase. Drawings and technical documents are checked and adapted to the actual situation (as built). All components are meticulously documented. Where required, we design temporary reinforcements and supports. As early as this phase, all activities are geared to enabling the most efficient and economic re-assembly at a later stage.

Dismantling and transportation

The actual relocation starts with dismantling. Each component is coded and labeled. Darwin (Dismantling and Relocation under Windows), our information system, is used to track each component during the dismantling and transport. Transportation methods depend on several factors such as weight, volume, fragility, climate and other local conditions.

Re-assembly engineering phase

Re-assembly engineering marks the start of the re-assembly phase. A multidisciplinary execution method is used to integrate all direct and supporting activities. Services rendered by subcontractors (such as civil works) as well as materials supplied are incorporated into this process.

Professionals

Relocation is the job of people with exceptional drive. Stork’s professionals welcome complex, state-of-the-art projects as a genuine challenge – no matter how daunting and dynamic.
