CooperHeat Services

At Stork Technical Services, we know that heat treatment is most often associated with increasing the strength of materials—but it can also be used to improve machining, enhance formability, and restore ductility after a cold working operation. It is a valuable manufacturing process that can improve product performance and yield other desirable characteristics. Stork Technical Services’ heat treatment services and equipment organization--is staffed, certified, and equipped to provide a full range of quality Cooperheat heat treatment services for a variety of materials, including metals, non-metals, composites, coatings, and refractory’s.

From the development of an initial concept to the completion of the process and handover, Stork Technical Services engineers and staff work to ensure your complete satisfaction with our Cooperheat heat treatment services. This “thinking and doing” approach is what sets us apart and allows us to offer turnkey value to our customers. Offering a full range of heat treatment applications, all of which utilize controlled and recorded heating processes, Stork Technical Services has the experience, equipment, and expertise to develop custom configurations for your particular processes. Our heating processes include:

Low-Range Temperature Heating
Utilizing temperatures less than 250°C, Cooperheat’s low-temperature heat treatments can be used for:

  • Curing protective coatings, including paints, phenolics, epoxy resins, and rubber linings
  • Moisture removal
  • Line thaw or decongestion of solidified low-melting point substances
  • GRP pipe joint curing
  • Composite curing
  • Welding preheat and concurrent heating of steels and non-ferrous metals
  • Heat shrink and expansion of fitted components, such as rotor bell ends and gears

Mid-Range Temperature Heating
Utilizing temperatures between 200°C to 800°C, Cooperheat’s mid-range temperature heat treatment services include:

  • Higher temperature welding preheat and concurrent heating
  • Hydrogen bake out of ferritic steels and post-heating applications
  • Post-weld heat treatment of welded structures
  • Tempering
  • Aging processes
  • Annealing of non-ferrous metals
  • Temperature profile stabilization of plant during shut down
  • Line thaw or decongestion of solidified higher melting point substances
  • Low and medium temperature refractory dry out and curing
  • Process start up

High-Range Temperature Heating
Working with temperatures of 800°C to 1250°C, Cooperheat provides:

  • Normalizing of ferritic steels
  • Annealing of ferritic steels
  • Solution annealing of austenitic steels
  • High-temperature refractory curing
  • Process start up

All Cooperheat heat treatment services are designed to minimize downtime, improve structural integrity, and enhance effective plant life. Additionally, depending on the mobility of the required equipment, many of our heating processes can be applied on-site or at your facility.
