Measurement & Control
Global corporations in the Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy and other major industries are frequently in the position of executing plant modifications or maintenance shutdowns. The goal is to finish the work on time and within budget so they can get back to reliable production, but unexpected defects and unforeseen start-up problems often get in the way.
Our skilled technicians and engineers at Stork Technical Services understand that every hour of missed production affects a company’s revenues and reputation. This is why we have been hired by world class organizations to measure, analyze, advise and manage all necessary steps to ensure safe and proper start-up. In short, we get you back up and running.
Stork’s Measurement & Control group is experienced in testing all essential measurements, including gas and liquid analysis, mechanical alignments and control system by: trip testing, loop checks, electrical switching, programmable logic controller (PLC), distributed control system (DCS) and fieldbus checks. Our engineers also advise on the used equipment to ensure successful operation in the long term.
At Stork, we call this thinking and doing. With years of practical knowledge behind us, we can do everything from the work preparation, execution and management to offering counsel and to document this process.
This may be why a global company contacted Stork for its one-stop-shop services including three months preparation on a large shut-down of a continuous installation—only to find severe hidden defects during the shutdown. Stork specialists worked alongside the customer 24 hours per day to implement necessary measurements, so there would be no further downtime. Even then, there was a challenge: the loop testing needed final approval for production to start. Stork ensured that all overhauled components operated within specifications.
