Stork Technical Services (STS) recently completed a major renovation and overhaul order at the incineration plant of waste processing company AVR in Rozenburg. Initially, the work was spread over three separate projects, but the integrated approach of STS made it possible to combine them into one large order. The only difficulty was that everything had to be completed in only three weeks. Despite the huge amount of work involved, STS finished before the deadline without any problems!

AVR, a member of the Van Gansewinkel Group, is one of the largest waste processing companies in the Netherlands. It operates waste incineration plants in Rozenburg and Duiven that convert waste into energy. The Rozenburg plant has seven incineration lines and a biomass power station. Stork Technical Services carried out the renovation and overhaul of the turbine and boiler systems of the biomass power station and the boiler on incineration line 5.

Integrated approach
Besides the competitive price, the short time to completion and reliability were decisive factors in AVR's choice for STS. Knowledge, expertise and experience are important factors in this respect. AVR also highly valued STS' integrated approach. For this challenging order, several Business Lines set up an integrated project organisation that enabled the work to be carried out within three weeks.
